Words from Guidance for You
Words from Guidance for You
People often talk of the first Thanksgiving in America and the small group of pilgrims that made it across the ocean to the new land. It is a day of remembrance and gratitude. Most of us have experienced many Thanksgivings, and we are familiar with what will unfold for us. The focus will be on the meal with its turkey and all the trimmings. Let me tell you of a long ago Thanksgiving, and a meal that served to remind those in attendance, that the main ingredient in any real Thanksgiving is love shared and embraced.
The remembrance day that I am talking about is the day that I called all my disciples to the upper room to share a meal together. It was a meal of thanksgiving, a seder meal, and what has been come to be known as the last supper, now commemorated as communion, and for some religions, it is a sacrament. It was a day of Thanksgiving for all of us, for what had gone before, and for the love that we shared with each other and with our Father, our Source, there.
I knew that the end of My earthly days was near, and that remembrance of Me with the bread and the wine would serve to be a tangible reminder to those I loved, of My enduring spiritual Presence with them, and as they ate the bread and drank the wine, to think of us as One with each other, there, that I was in them and they were in Me, and we were One in the Love of our Father. I said, “ Do this in remembrance of Me.”
Today, many of you will share a meal with loved ones. I will be present with you as you so invite Me within this day. I will be at your table, too. I promised long ago, that I would not leave you ever, that the spiritual reality of the resurrected Jesus would be there as fully present to turn to within, always. The promise is kept, and I am here, and I would say to you, invite Me in. “Do this and remember My Presence is there with you, even this day.” Open the door to the transcendence this day, and live joined with Me, always.
Let this be a celebration of living love and the transformational power it gives each and every one, the power of renewal, and the true meaning of our Source, and therefore, of our lives. It is a day of gratitude in which I also give thanks for each one of you. I love you dearly, and know that you are never alone.
A day for gratitude...
