A Solemn Promise

I make this solemn promise,

Which I restate again,

I’ll stay with you forever, 

With you, I’ve always been. 

It’s like a marriage vow, dear,

Or an ancient covenant, 

Filled with vibrant meaning,

That’s truly My intent. 

A promise filled with meaning, 

Eternal in its scope, 

Claiming it as yours, dear,

Will fill your heart with hope. 

Hope and joy and truth, dear, 

With Me, there is all three, 

I give Myself to you, dear, 

Now claim this surety!

We’ll move as One together,

God’s will ’tis what we’ll do,

In peace, God’s Holy Movement,

Through us, it will come through.

A covenant I give you, 

A promise for all time, 

I am yours forever, 

I entreat you, dear, be mine. 

It’s written in your heart, dear,

A solemn oath you’ll see,

Meant to be your northern star,

You’re meant to join with Me. 

Love fills up this promise,

Love’s what makes it true, 

Love’s the very reason, 

I give myself to you. 

In closing, I restate again, 

This promise so well known, 

I am with you always,

You are not alone.
