Thanksgiving  Day 2023

I’m listening Lord, for what you say,

What message would you share, 

With those who read this simple poem,

They’re wanting substance, there. 

First, let’s greet them warmly, 

Let’s consider this poem a meal, 

We’ll fill them with such goodness, dear, 

Abundantly fed, they’ll feel! 

The main dish will be love that’s given, 

With sides of joy and peace, 

Washed down with drinks of happiness, 

This goodness does not cease! 

Patience, kindness, gentleness, 

Faithfulness, self control, 

These fruits of spirit all right there, 

To fill each hungry soul.

This meal is freely given,  

To those I love, so dear, 

Thank you all for coming, 

You're always welcome here!

Let’s decide together,

To call each coming day, 

A day for true Thanksgiving

Fed well, in truth, God’s way! 

In closing, I will tell you,

In truth, what you have known,

I am with you, always, 

 You are not alone!
