The Last Day of the Year

Let’s take a quiet moment,

To review the bygone year, 

To celebrate the good times, 

Remind, what caused a tear.

Many delightful moments,

With family and friends were had, 

No major upset happened,

Still times when you felt sad. 

Remembering the loved ones ,

Who have passed not long ago, 

Well aware that soon, you too,

May say good bye; let go. 

The conflicts around the world,

Where killing wars increased, 

So many lived with constant fear,

We pray these wars will cease!

In reflection, the greatest constant,

Your Presence, Lord, with me,

Surrounded, filled with your sweet love, 

Such joy, such peace, with Thee.  

In every situation, 

Your guidance came on through, 

I listened and I followed, 

For what you gave, so true! 

This year, it’s now a memory,

It’s gone, it’s in the past,

The now moment, with you Lord,

Co-joined, the joy, will last! 

And so, as this year closes, 

Let’s welcome in the new, 

A joyous year ahead, Lord,

Entwined, as One, with You!
