Through Jesus’ Eyes

Do you see yourself as unworthy,

Yourself, you criticize,

Look at what I see in you,

Look through Jesus’ eyes.

I see a loving person,

Expressing spiritually,

Held in God’s mind this moment, 

As perfect, whole, and free. 

I see a willing heart there,

One open to what I say,

One willing to do what’s asked for, 

To live your life, God’s way. 

You’ve defined yourself as plain, there, 

A ‘has been’ you surmise,

Now gone is your attractiveness,

Let’s look through Jesus’ eyes.

Your wrongful definition,

It’s ego’s faulty view,

Let it go completely,

I see you as brand new.

I see a vibrant spirit,

Where often love gives rise,

To sharing light with others,

Just look through Jesus’ eyes.

You and I are One, dear,

Remember who you are,

Created in God’s image, 

You are His shining star. 

Humility’s the feeling,

E’en tears of joy are there,

When you ‘get’ the Father’s meaning,

Gone’s unworthiness, despair!

In closing  I do ask you,

To let God’s love arise, 

Then view yourself as I do, 

Look through Jesus’ eyes!
