Take the Time to Care

It seems a common pastime,

Especially among the young,

Belittling some others,

They do it, call it fun. 

They lack the recognition, 

How hurtful this can be, 

Teasing, jeering, bullying, 

Are truly weaponry. 

Causing mighty harm to those,

Deep inner wounds and strife,  

Sometimes causing suicide,

Can cut just like a knife. 

The bully, boy or girl there, 

If someone that you know, 

Will someday reap what they have sown, 

They’ll feel another’s blow. 

So don’t ignore the problem,

Take the time to care, 

Our youth need loving guidance, 

To help ward off despair. 

Call on Me to help there, 

Right words will come on through, 

Love provides the answers,

Its action, makes all new.

Listen to each heartache, 

Patiently just hear, 

Without a judgement given, 

Your help — a listening ear. 

Let them know they matter,

Each one so valued there, 

Their life is truly precious, 

Of worth beyond compare. 

We’re setting an example,

In how to live that’s right,

Let love be the beacon,

By following its light. 

In closing let Me share again 

This truth that you have known, 

I am with you always,

You are not alone.
